Introducing Nicole’s Youth Ambassadors

My own civic roots were planted early, back in high school, when a teacher first showed me that local government wasn't something that happened to us, it was something we could shape. That belief has stayed with me ever since. It's why activating a Youth Ambassador and Youth Council initiative has always been important to me, and in the next term of Council, it's the term we make it happen.

When I launched this campaign, connecting with first-time and young voters mattered to me.

I met Jenna years ago when she was a student at CCI, leading Cheer Her On. Even then, she was civic-minded, she once did a research project on how Cobourg's municipal government works. Now, Jenna is a voter herself, helping to shape the future of her community.

Jenna has been part of this campaign from the beginning, and she took on our Youth Ambassador program to help make sure young voices are part of the conversation. She's been talking with youth across Cobourg, and sharing what she hears in a video series.
